There are 3 types of GPS signal, which are available to public / for civilian users. The L3 and L4 is for some special useS so we do not list below.

  • L1:  The oldest GPS signal. It is at 1575.42 MHz (10.23 MHz × 154);
  • L2:  Carried out after the L1.  It uses 1227.60 MHz (10.23 MHz × 120);
  • L5:  For Aeronautical navigation.  Working frequency is 1176 MHz (10.23 MHz × 115). I

Almost all of the civilian application has used the L1 signal for locating.
