Full-Band Mobile Signal Jamming Solution for Shanxi Jinzhong Prison

Full-Band Mobile Signal Jamming Solution for Shanxi Jinzhong Prison
  1. Project Background

Shanxi Jinzhong Prison, established in 1905 and known through history under several names, is one of China’s few century-old correctional facilities. To eliminate security risks from inmates using mobile phones,

The prison deployed our high-power, large-scale adjustable mobile phone jammers across all production and living areas. Using a “one jammer equals multiple devices” approach, a single high-power unit provides maximum coverage, delivering higher efficiency, stronger signal blocking, and full-area protection. This solution effectively cuts off all 2G–5G communications, prevents illegal collusion, and significantly enhances overall prison safety, stability, and operational control.

N-14-120W Working Principle

Mobile communication relies on a network of base stations that transmit signals to mobile phones and relay communication data. Phones maintain connectivity by continuously receiving these signals. When the N-14-120W jammer emits interference on the same frequency bands, mobile phones are unable to receive valid signals from nearby base stations. This disrupts the communication link, preventing devices from making or receiving calls, sending messages, or accessing mobile data—thereby achieving effective signal blocking.

  1. Prison Signal Jamming Solution Overview

2.1 Project Scope

Based on the structural layout of different buildings, the solution adopts a hybrid deployment model using directional high-gain wireless jammers for wide-area coverage and omnidirectional wireless jammers to fill blind spots. All devices use built-in antennas, with power and communication cables concealed during installation to prevent accidental damage or safety risks.

Required equipment: 49 directional high-gain jammers, 447 omnidirectional jammers, 1 core switch, 10 access switches.

2.2 Deployment Model

A combined deployment mode was designed based on the real conditions inside each building. Directional jammers cover large open areas, and omnidirectional jammers ensure full coverage inside rooms, hallways, and hidden spaces. All cabling and antennas are internal to prevent tampering or electric shock risks. (Diagrams mentioned in the original document are to be displayed as illustrations.)

Deployment Mode 1

Deployment Instructions: As all controlled areas are single-story, a combination of directional high-gain and omnidirectional wireless signal jammers will be deployed based on the actual situation of each area (to minimize communication impact on armed police in guard towers and residents around the prison).

 Deployment Mode 1

Remarks: Estimated requirement: 49 directional high-gain wireless signal jammers and 447 omni-directional wireless signal jammers.

Deployment Description: Since all controlled areas are multi-story buildings, omni-directional wireless signal jammers will be deployed according to the actual conditions of each specific area.

Performance Requirements & Construction Standards

3.1 Expected Blocking Performance

The mobile phone jamming system must meet the following requirements: effectively block 2G / 3G / 4G / 5G signals, ensure complete jamming inside inmate living areas including cells, warehouses, corridors, hallways, windows, and public areas. Achieve full coverage inside production workshops, cover narrow and sealed spaces such as interview rooms, storage rooms, and restrooms, block mobile signals in correctional officers’ duty areas, and ensure normal communication in non-jamming zones including administrative office buildings, armed police zones, staff dormitories, and surrounding residential areas.

3.2 Construction Requirements

Centralized power supply with locked distribution boxes to prevent manual shutdown. Devices must include fault alarm systems for real-time monitoring. All cabling must be routed through conduits; protective covers must be installed. Equipment must support long-term, continuous, stable operation. Electromagnetic emissions must meet national standards GB 8702-88 and GB 9175-88.

3.3 Equipment Transport, Storage & Insurance

Supplier is responsible for all transportation to the installation site. Supplier must store and protect materials until final acceptance. Supplier must insure all construction personnel with personal accident coverage.

3.4 Civilized Construction & Environmental Protection

Measures include clear organizational structure for civilized construction management, noise control, dust reduction, resident disturbance mitigation, waste disposal, environmental protection, on-site first-aid preparation, and disease-prevention measures.

3.5 Quality Standards

The project follows GB 8702-88, GB 9175-88, GA/T 75-2000, JGJ/T 16-92, YD/T 5220-2005, and YD 5039-97 standards. Acceptance must comply with national and industry requirements and be supervised by the purchaser and engineering inspectors.

  1. Installation Plan

4.1 Installation of N-14-120W Directional Outdoor Jammers

Directional jammers are installed on the prison yard, perimeter walls, and open outdoor areas. The antennas are aimed toward the inside of the prison to achieve the strongest jamming effect.

4.2 Installation of K-16 Omnidirectional Indoor Jammers

According to indoor signal field strength tests, omnidirectional jammers are distributed strategically throughout rooms, corridors, corners, and enclosed spaces to ensure full coverage with no dead zones.

All products comply with national, industry, and enterprise manufacturing standards. Skilled technicians and trained workers ensure high-quality execution. Clear role division and professional project management team.

5.2 Inspection Before Delivery

Before shipment, the supplier will conduct full inspection of product quality, specifications, performance, quantity, and weight. A formal inspection report will be issued.

5.3 Installation & Acceptance

All equipment must be installed and commissioned according to tender requirements. Supplier must provide equipment lists, operation manuals, warranty certificates, and qualification documents. If shortages, defects, or damages occur, supplier is responsible for replacement or repair. If damage occurs during transport or installation, supplier covers all costs.

5.4 Warranty Commitment

All equipment is brand-new, unused, and fully compliant with contract requirements. Under correct installation and maintenance, devices must maintain reliable performance. During the warranty period, the supplier is responsible for any faults caused by design, engineering, or material defects.
